Pre-Purchase Questions
« on: January 02, 2012, 07:08:40 PM »
Hello all. I'm pretty new to eve ~1.5 months, but I love it. Or rather, I love the pvp of it. Basically i'm in a nullsec alliance so I have access to 0.0 space and I've been manually ratting for income...and it's awful.

I'm looking to buy a ratting bot and found this. However, because I'm new, I can't fly great ships yet. What ship class/type would I need to take full advantage of a bot? Right now I'm in a battlecruiser. I've heard of people using Tengus a lot. Is there anything cheaper/easier than that?

Additionally, what kind of isk/hr can it make? Say i'm in a system with -0.5 truesec, 15 belts and I'm the only one ratting. With a battlecruiser, battleship, tengu, what kind of money could I make with those two? Not amazing skills, not amazing faction fittings...just tier II stuff.

Hello,
You can use H-Bot with any ship you are able to rat in 0.0 . The better the ship+pilot the more isk/hour you'll get always combined with the quality of solar system (by quality I mean true security, belts count and traffic). If you fly BCs now I'd suggest using Drake. It's cheap, tanky and effective. You'll not get crazy isk/hour rate but it's more than ok for a new player.

The isk/hour depends on the factors I mentioned (ship, pilot skills, solar system quality) and how tuned are H-Bot settings. Max rate I get on ideal conditions and you'll find others mentioning on this forum is around 60M/Hour but this is impossible to reach with a low sp char. Basically H-Bot's rate is around -20% of manual play. So if your manual ratting gives you 10M/hour you should get 8M/hour with H-Bot or if you get manually 20M/h you'll get 16M/h etc. H-Bot's ISK/hour rate is lower than manual play because it's obviously a bot and it has to do things as simple as possible and many times slower than actually needed to keep things stable and avoid confusion.

All you have to do to see for yourself is download the Demo version and run it for few hours. You'll need to be in front of the screen because demo version has a captcha popup every 20 minutes and it doesn't warp to safespot. Follow the setup guide step by step to get the bot running and if you get any problems search the forum or send me a pm.
